De Gairó makes their debut with the EP titled ‘Si desembarco al poble’, a collection of six songs in which the young quartet from the Catalan coast (Maresme) reinterprets the tradition of the habanera. HABANERAS? Yes, habaneras… Catalan most local tradition of back-and-forth music (from Catalan coasts to Cubans shores) now also travels through time. De Gairó approaches the tradition without losing its essence: maritime vocabulary, salty nostalgia, and timeless melodies meet 21st-century cultural codes, tackling contemporary themes and aesthetics that bring the style closer to new generations.
